MSN, APRN, ACNP

I grew up with traditional medical training. I received my BSN in Nursing and worked as a critical care nurse before pursuing my MSN in Nursing and ACNP at the University of Rochester. My title ran the gamut of staff nurse to Director for Research for sponsored drug and device development.

My most gratifying years at the hospital (and most taxing), were spent leading the COVID trials and a few groundbreaking Stem-Cell studies. I saw how much of a difference these trials made for patients and their families.

I was involved with hundreds of trials over the years, a publication here and there and held certifications in all things medicine and even aesthetics.

So here’s the real deal
After Spending over 33 years in a traditional medical field in an unfulfilling setting, I decided to walk away. I told myself that patients need a better way to heal, a better place to heal (myself included). Do I believe in traditional medicine? Of course. It has its place. But more importantly, I believe in Integrative Medicine. I believe in Preventive Medicine. I believe that it is time to come to the realization that traditional medicine alone in the conventional setting is not doing the job that a lot of us need. A combo platter is what I prefer.

I was drawn to many forms of alternative healing. When appropriate, I chatted about such topics as acupuncture, chiropractic, energy medicine and others with my patients. And then I researched IV Nutrition and Ketamine. What I learned motivated me to pursue this therapeutic means for meeting my own health goals and that’s how I discovered Dr. Agin. A 15+ year veteran and pioneer in this field, Dr. Agin both treated and mentored me in the proper dosing and application of IV Ketamine, NAD+, peptides and a host additional therapeutic solutions for patients. Thanks to this experience, supporting research and one-of-a-kind training we received, WTW-IV has given me the chance to improve your health and enhance your wellness journey.

Wellness is a familiar theme and has been emphasized throughout my life in myriad ways. Fitness, yoga, meditation… these and more have played an integral role in my own personal development. My professional background in pedagogy, chiropractic, neurophysiology, chemistry and clinical nutrition has enabled me to promote wellness principles of all sorts for clients (and students) over the years. Immersed in the Wellness arena and as an IV nutrition patient, myself, I know how powerful and effective the right remedy can be – and how difficult it can be, at times, to find such a remedy. Though my current role at WTW-IV is centered in support and leadership, we envision expanding my role to include clinical services. Stay tuned! Maybe pet therapy could be added to our services while we’re at it… Who doesn’t want a dog or cat to pet while they are sitting, relaxed while under our care? ‘Something to push for at a future staff meeting. For now, I am thrilled to be part of the cutting edge healing solutions that WTW-IV offers and delivers.

Since a very young age, I felt that helping people was what I was meant to do as my life’s purpose. Growing up in a household with a mother who is a Nurse Practitioner, the importance of medicine and health was introduced early on and I always knew that the medical field was my calling to help others. I graduated from the University at Buffalo with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked as a critical care nurse in the surgical ICU, COVID ICU/HIDU and PACU at the University of Rochester before going on to obtain my Master’s degree. After graduating from St. John Fisher College with my MSN in Family Medicine, I worked in transplant surgery and hepatology, and continue to work with the Center for Perioperative Medicine and anesthesia department.

In my years as both a bedside nurse and a Nurse Practitioner, I have always loved learning and helping patients in high acuity environments, which is what I used to believe was the most important aspect of medicine – I thought that by helping my patients through the worst of their acute illnesses was the best way to care for that person and their family. What I have realized over time and with experience is that there is not just one important part of medicine… there are various facets that ultimately lead to overall health and wellness, but it never has to be by using just one method versus another. Here at What the Wellness IV, we offer a multitude of treatments and tools to help people achieve their health and wellness goals in conjunction with traditional medicine methods. The idea of combining traditional medicine with integrative and preventative medicine to the community is not a new concept, however it sometimes is not easy to find. Look no further – we are here to provide solutions for healing to you!
